For teachers, a day at school also means a full day's work. What's often needed most of all is a personal space to concentrate on completing tasks. This type of workplace can also be used to share ideas with colleagues, or perhaps discuss and prepare a joint project.

However, as a workroom for everyday work, the staff room also has other roles to play. It should ideally be set up in a way that permits the greatest possible range of uses. For example, providing areas for quiet communication, or a place of withdrawal and relaxation between demanding periods of teaching.

Last but not least, teaching staff deserve high-quality functional furniture and equipment to show their demanding work is truly appreciated. It helps create an atmosphere in which they feel more at ease, whilst supporting and nurturing a healthier team culture.
