Cleaning and maintaining

Note on COVID-19: Despite the COVID pandemic, the Robert-Koch Institute (RKI) does not recommend the routine disinfection of surfaces in domestic and public areas, including that of frequent contact surfaces. Appropriate cleaning is the preferred approach.

General information: Marks on textile coverings are easiest to eliminate directly after they arise. For general care and upkeep, regularly brush off the coverings with a soft brush or vacuum off with an upholstery attachment. Wipe off more stubborn dirt with a damp leather cloth. However, take care when cleaning linen or silk coverings. In this case, it is advisable to call in a professional cleaning company.

Removing marks: First check a concealed area for colour-fastness and possible changes to the surface by rubbing with a soft white cloth that has been impregnated with a cleaning agent or stain remover. This check should also be performed for natural-coloured coverings. To clean, dab the damp stains with an absorbent cloth or paper. Treat any residue with diluted carpet or upholstery shampoo. Never apply cleaning agents directly to the coverings. Only apply the agent to a white cloth. Use the moistened cloth to soak up the stain, working from the edge towards the middle.

Caution: The surface of the covering can be damaged by vigorous rubbing or scrubbing.
