Green Factory Morocco – Office Equipment for JTI
JTI has constructed a new production facility in the Tanger Med industrial park near Tétouan in Morocco with a focus on sustainability. Some of the electricity is generated from solar energy, the climate control system is automated and both the factory and administrative offices are fitted with LED lighting. The facility is intended to serve as a regional model for responsible, environmentally friendly production in North Africa.
The project has also created around 170 new jobs and strengthened the industrial cluster in northern Morocco. JTI has also committed to explicitly allocating 30 per cent of roles to women, particularly in administrative, technical, and managerial positions.
Office diversity
In the administrative wing, we were tasked with furnishing 50 workstations, meeting rooms, a canteen, changing rooms, and an outdoor area. We scored highly in the tender process here through our choice of products and colours. As a manufacturer operating through direct sales with strategic retail partners, we collaborated with the architectural practice to develop and propose a coherent overall concept. This proved convincing, as did our sustainable corporate approach and financial reliability.
We were awarded the contract in August 2025, and the furniture was shipped to Morocco in October and delivered in November, where it was initially stored. Up until then, all communication with Morocco had been digital only; unfortunately, we were unable to visit the construction site in advance. This was not a problem for our installation manager, who travelled from Germany. In January 2026, he and a local team installed the furniture in the building, and the new premises were ready for occupation.
We would like to thank the architectural firm Pasucha Klepzig GmbH in Trier, JT International Germany GmbH, and our VS team for their excellent collaboration. We look forward to working with you again!
