European Level (FEMB)
European Level is a standard for office and non-residential furniture with comprehensive product- and company-related criteria for sustainability and a circular economy. It was developed by industry experts to specifically define relevant requirements for furniture.
The standard is published by the European Furniture Association FEMB, and the legal owner is the IBA (Industrieverband Büro und Arbeitswelt e. V.).
There is currently a plethora of sustainability certifications. At VS, we focus on sustainability certifications at the European level. This is not only because of the convincing overall concept, but also the high level of credibility of European-level certification.
Almost all VS series products produced at the Tauberbischofsheim site achieve the highest level 3.

This distinguishes European Level from many other sustainability certification schemes (evidence: accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065).
Conducting audits within the company
A key element of FEMB certification is the conduct of regular on-site audits to ensure that the requirements of the standard are being implemented within the company.
The highest level of sustainability certification
Certification at European level is classified as a Type 1 environmental label according to DIN EN ISO 14024. This confirms the label's credibility.
