The solution: basic rest-activity cycle
The key to working efficiently lies in dividing your tasks into 60- to 90-minute blocks. This leads to faster, more focused work and better performance. After each of these blocks, you should take a break of 10 to 15 minutes. This rhythm is known as the ‘basic rest-activity cycle’. This makes work not only more enjoyable, but also more productive.

Even if the workload remains constant, physical and mental strain do not increase linearly over time, but exponentially.
"With shorter work cycles and more frequent short breaks, less recovery time is required overall to counteract the same level of total fatigue"
Alfred Oppolzer
What is the optimal work cycle for maximising productivity?
During the first 20 minutes of the work session, you should tackle the most complex and demanding tasks, as the brain is still at its freshest then. After that, you should switch to lighter tasks and then take a break from work after a maximum of 90 minutes.
This rhythm fosters productivity and balance, as working efficiently does not mean putting in more hours, but rather making the most of the right phases of concentration.
