‘Cradle to Cradle’ is a sustainable design concept with the aim of designing products in such a way that they do not become waste at the end of their lives and the material can be used again and again in a closed cycle.
Importance at VS
As a manufacturing company, we examine every aspect of the material cycle of our products. In the process, we consider the basic idea of C2C (e.g. easily-dismantled construction, low-pollutant materials).
Our main focus is on the long life of our products so that they are used for as long as possible before being returned to the cycle.
JUMPER Air Active from VS is the first school and institutional chair to achieve the complex certification . The school chair PantoSwing- LuPo has also been certified as well as the tables Uno-C und EcoTable (https://c2ccertified.org/certified-products).

Supporter
At VS, we examine every aspect of the material cycle. This way of thinking is a basic tenet of our actions. This is why we also support the C2C NGO in drawing up educational documents.
Teachers will find a great deal of inspiration and downloads for their lessons at the ULR https://c2c.ngo/bildungsarbeit - including our workshop “Chair in a cycle – from analysis to circular design”.
One project supported by us is “The circular classroom of the future”. Pupils at the Beethoven Gymnasium grammar school in Berlin designed just such a classroom in their school in a pilot project. This room was redesigned and/or newly built following the criteria of the circular economy, sustainability aspects, aesthetics, design and educational considerations. It was also worth an article in the taz newspaper.
We are already planning more educational projects dealing with the circular economy and circular design.
