The Lumière Steam Center sees itself as an educational institution that views science, technology, art, and mathematics as an invitation to wonder, and therefore offers hands-on and discovery courses for children and teenagers. The requirements for the furniture were therefore complex: everything had to be flexible, but nothing should feel like a compromise. The spaces are designed to spark curiosity rather than restrict it. Together with the Lumière team, we developed a spatial concept consisting of four interlocking areas: a collaboration area, a maker zone, an individual work area, and a presentation space. The furnishings can be reconfigured in a matter of minutes, even by the children and teens themselves. This allows each room to adapt to the specific learning and working needs of the moment.
