Schwachhausen Secondary School Bremenn

The conversion of the former Siemens building on Universitätsallee is creating a future-oriented secondary school in Bremen. The location has been growing year on year since August 2024 and offers pupils a learning environment that is flexible, versatile and designed to nurture talent.

The school's educational concept focuses on project-oriented, interest-driven learning. Research projects, creative product phases and interdisciplinary tasks enable young people to deepen their knowledge individually and develop their own talents. Collaborations with the university – for example in chemistry laboratories or art education – extend the learning space beyond the school.

Spatially, this approach is implemented through year-specific learning areas that combine differentiation rooms, subject rooms and large learning landscapes. Flexible furniture, seating niches, sofa corners, standing tables and mobile presentation options create a variety of workspaces for concentrated research, creative design and collaborative work.

VS supported the development of the new school location with ergonomic furniture and flexible furnishing systems that ideally complement the educational concept. The result is a contemporary learning environment that exemplifies the transformation of the existing building into a modern educational facility.
